Day 4

After we woke up, Brendan and I took some time to write our blogs, since we kind of forgot about that. We initially planned to make use of the hop-on hop-off busses to see more of the city, but since it was already 11 am, we decided to do that on another day.
Instead, we decided to go hiking in a nearby National Park in the rainforest. It was quite a nice hike (the highlight was the spectacular view over Panama City), altough we didn't really see any animals, unfortunately. Nonetheless, we enjoyed it, and luckily, we were done just in time to avoid one of Panama's unexpected pourdowns.
That evening, Walter, the father of the girls, brought us a visit, and joined us for dinner. He was a really nice man, who fled El Salvador in his youth to escape the child militia recruiters, and he told us that he'd go take us for a real hike next week (apparently the place he is going to take us does have a lot of wildlife, unlike the one we visited today, so I'm looking forward to that). Right now I'm typing this blog, and I think I'll go to bed after watching a movie.
